                   AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 6958, AS
                   AMENDED, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE, SO AS
                   TO REZONE A TRACT OF LAND LOCATED IN THE 2400
                   BLOCK OF COWART STREET, BEING ON THE SOUTHEAST
                   LINE OF COWART STREET NORTHEAST OF WEST 25TH
                   STREET, FROM R-3 RESIDENTIAL ZONE TO C-1
                   HIGHWAY COMMERCIAL ZONE.

              	   SECTION 1.  BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
         CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That Ordinance No. 6958, as
         amended, known as the Zoning Ordinance, be and the same is 
hereby
         amended so as to rezone:
               
                A tract of land located in the 2400 block of Cowart
                Street, being on the southeast line of Cowart
                Street northeast of West 25th Street.  Lots 8-11,
                block 6, White's Addition, as shown by plat of
                record in deed book D, volume 2, page 246, ROHC;
                being the properties described as tract six in deed
                book B, volume 9, page 394, ROHC, and tract two in
                deed book I, volume 16, page 122, ROHC.  Tax Map
                No. 145N-E-6-9.
               
               
         from R-3 Residential Zone to C-1 Highway Commercial Zone.
        
              	   SECTION 2.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this 
Ordinance
         shall take effect two weeks from and after its passage, as
         required by law.
